Southwell Minster 2½ miles or by bus

Southwell Minster is a cathedral in the picturesque market town of Southwell. It has fine examples of Norman and early English architecture. Refectory. Admission free, donations welcome.
Open Daily 0830-1830 (1630 Sun) but check website for closures.

Bus 28 from Fiskerton station to Southwell Minster, 7 minutes journey. M-S 2-hourly. Operated by Stagecoach. Buses also operate from Newark.

The Workhouse, Southwell NT 2¼ miles or by bus then ¾ mile

This rural workhouse was built in 1824 and is one of the best preserved in England. It was designed to house about 160 inmates who lived and worked there. The adjacent Firbeck Infirmary was added in 1871. Café and picnic area.
Open Mar-Oct, WThFSSu (Daily in Aug) 1030-1600.
