Boston is a busy town and port with a market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. St Botolph's Church has a distinctive tower known as The Stump which is a local landmark. The medieval red-brick Hussey Tower was once part of a manorial home. The Mayflower Pilgrim Fathers successfully set sail from Boston for America in 1620. A memorial in Havenside Country Park marks an earlier attempt in 1607 when they were betrayed. Boston Bus Station is ¼ mile from the railway station. Boston is on the Poacher Line from Nottingham to Grantham and Skegness.
