Brunel's Maidenhead Railway Bridge over the Thames is famous for its flat arch, known locally as the Sounding Arch. It is 1 mile from Taplow station (and 1½ miles from Maidenhead station).

For Dorney Court leave Taplow station via the footbridge and through the car park on the south side of the station. Cross the busy A4 main road at the traffic lights, then the walk is along quiet Marsh Lane and the surfaced path following the Jubilee River (a flood channel completed in 2002).
