Bromeswell Green Nature Reserve ¾ mile

A small nature reserve of wet meadows, saltmarsh and woodland. A good place for wetland plants and butterflies in summer. Circular trail plus path to River Deben from car park opposite reserve.
Open at all times but best visited May-July.

Sutton Hoo NT 1¼ miles

The remains of an Anglo-Saxon King and his treasured possessions which were unearthed just before the Second World War. Replica and original finds from the mounds, reconstruction of the king's burial chamber. Country house. Viewing tower overlooking the Royal Burial Ground. Estate walks. Café and picnic area.
