Known as 'The Garden Resort of East Anglia' due to the extensive seafront gardens, Felixstowe has four miles of sand and shingle beach, a pier and Martello towers along the seafront which were built 200 years ago to repel a Napoleonic invasion.

The busy Port of Felixstowe can be viewed from the Landguard Visitor Centre which
has displays, exhibitions and café. The Nature Reserve is a shingle spit with
unusual and rare plants, migrating birds and military history.
