Dreamland ¼ mile

Old Town Hall Local History Museum ½ mile

The history of Margate from the 18th century to the present day, covering its development from a small fishing village to a seaside resort. Victorian police station and cells. Tel. 01843 231213.

Tudor House ¾ mile

One of the oldest buildings in Margate, rescued by the town council in 1937.

Turner Contemporary Gallery ¾ mile

Inspired by JMW Turner's sense of enquiry this new gallery offers a programme of exhibitions, events and learning opportunities enabling connections to be made between art from 1750 to the present day. Café. Tel. 01843 233000.

Shell Grotto 1 mile

A series of underground rooms and passageways covered with shell mosaics. Its origin is a mystery, although many believe it is a 2000-year-old temple. Café. Tel. 01843 220008.
