Hinton Admiral station is named after the local estate, it serves the town of Highcliffe to the south as well as the small village of Hinton to the north.
A magnificent house of the Romantic and Picturesque style of architecture. It was built in the 1830s for the
diplomat Lord Stuart de Rothesay. After becoming derelict the building was restored in the 1990s. The Castle and grounds overlook
Christchurch Bay with good views of the Isle of Wight. Tearoom.

On your way to Highcliffe Castle you may like to divert via Nea Meadows (¾ mile from station), a small nature reserve with a lake, woodland, wildflower meadows and a wildlife pond.
