Eastleigh is a railway town which developed around the works of the London & South Western Railway. Lakeside Country Park has lakes, woodland and meadows, created from former gravel works 1 mile from Eastleigh station but only ½ mile from Southampton Airport Parkway. Eastleigh Museum ¼ mile (from Eastleigh)

Discover Eastleigh's history with the recreated 1930s home of an engine driver and his wife. The museum is part of a terrace of Victorian houses typical of Eastleigh. Events, exhibitions and family activities programme. Admission free.

Eastleigh Lakeside Steam Railway 1¼ miles (½ mile from Southampton Airport Parkway)

A 10¼" and 7¼" dual gauge miniature railway with a 1¼ mile loop in Lakeside Country Park. Most trains are steam hauled. Café in Park. Events programme.
Open SSu (Daily in school holidays) 1000-1600.

Marwell Zoo by bus

140 acres of parkland with animals from around the world including giraffes, tigers, penguins and meerkats. Daily talks, gardens, adventure playgrounds. Cafés and picnic areas.
