Walton-on-the-Naze is a traditional Victorian seaside resort with a pier and a long sandy beach less than ¼ mile from the station. The Naze is a peninsula north of the town.

Walton Pier ¼ mile

Walton Pier includes an amusement complex with indoor funfair rides and other entertainments. The long Pier is also popular for sea fishing. Café and refreshment kiosks.

Naze Tower 1½ miles or by bus

An 86ft tower built in 1720 as a navigational mark for shipping. The 8 floors include an art gallery with temporary exhibitions and a museum covering the history of the tower plus the ecology and geology of the Naze. Rooftop viewing platform. Café.

Bus 97/98 from near Station (note separate stops for 97 & 98) to The Naze (bus terminus), 7 minutes journey, then ¼ mile walk. M-S 3 buses per hour, Sun & BH about hourly. Operated by Hedingham.

Naze Nature Discovery Centre & Nature Reserve 1½ miles or by bus

The Naze is a unique coastal landscape where coastal change can be seen. The John Weston Nature Reserve at the northern end of the Naze is important for migrating birds and other wildlife. Café and picnic area.
