Burnham-on-Crouch Museum ½ mile

Located in a former boat-builders premises, the Museum covers local history including domestic life, boat-building, oysters, agriculture and archaeology.

Mangapps Railway 1¼ miles or by bus

A privately owned ¾-mile standard gauge working railway with steam and diesel locomotives. Museum with a collection of railway items, mainly from East Anglia, including an extensive signalling collection. Light refreshments and picnic area.

Bus 31/31B/31D/31X from opposite the Railway Hotel (and from near Museum) to Mangapps Railway entrance shortly after the cemetery, watch for the sign as there's no marked stop. 4 minutes journey. M-S about ½-hourly, Sun 2-hourly. For the return journey there's no safe place to wait opposite the entrance, instead walk back to the marked stop near the cemetery. Operated by First.
