Braintree is busy town with a popular Street Market every Wednesday and Saturday stretching along the Market Place and High Street.
Flitch Way is a walking and cycling path along the former railway line to Bishop's Stortford.
The modern Bus Station known as Braintree Bus Interchange is ¼ mile from the railway station.
Note that the station immediately before Braintree is called Braintree Freeport,
this serves Braintree Village outlet shopping centre (originally called Braintree Freeport) on the edge of the town.
