Trains from Plymouth reverse at Bere Alston before continuing to Calstock and Gunnislake. The disused line beyond Bere Alston continued to Tavistock and there are plans to reopen this line.

Bus 87/87A from Pounds Park Road (½ mile from station)
to Morwellham Quay turning at crossroads along a straight stretch of road, there is no marked bus stop,
watch for the Morwellham Quay signpost (if missed, alight Rock Cottage a little further on, also with a signpost).
Then 1 mile walk (1¼ miles from Rock Cottage) downhill, allow extra time to walk uphill on the way back.
M-S every 1-1½ hours, 10 minutes journey. Some return journeys continue to the station.
