Thatcham station is close to the Kennet & Avon Canal which is near the railway for much of the way between Reading and Pewsey.
Displays in the Nature Discovery Centre highlight wildlife to be seen in the surrounding nature reserve;
birds, dragonflies, damselflies and other wetland wildlife. Habitats include internationally important reedbeds, lakes,
woodland and hedgerows. Walking trails around the Reserve.
