Mountfitchet Castle is a Norman Motte and Bailey Castle. The reconstructed wooden castle and village are on the original site
with many different buildings, siege weapons and free-roaming animals - helping to show what life was like in 1066 Domesday England!
The site includes the House on the Hill Museum with a large collection of toys, books and games from Victorian times to the 1990s.
Tearoom and picnic area.
Open Apr-Oct, Daily 1000-1700.
Stansted Windmill is a good example of a tower mill and is unusual in retaining most of its original machinery.
Open May-Oct, first Sun of each month, 1330-1730. See website for extra days.
