Hatfield Forest NT by bus

A former royal hunting forest established by Henry I in 1100, Hatfield Forest is now a National Nature Reserve with a wide range of habitats including coppiced woodland, open plains and a lake. Download a map from the website showing trails. Café (1¼ miles from bus stop).
Open at all times, best visited May-Sep. Café Apr-Sep, Daily 0900-1700 (see website for Oct-Mar).

Bus 508 from Coach Station (adjacent to railway station and airport) to Takeley Street, opposite Green Man, 9 minutes journey. Then along the side road, under the bridge and up to Flitch Way (a former railway line) to enter Hatfield Forest. M-F ½-hourly, Sat hourly. Operated by Arriva. The bus also operates from Bishop's Stortford.
