The Museum is one of the octagonal thatched cottages built for the Dutch workers and their families when
Canvey Island was drained and embanked in the 17th century by the Dutch engineer Vermuyden.
The rooms and an exhibition hall contain exhibits illustrating the history of Canvey Island, including models of historic sailing craft.
