Newton Abbot is a market town with many buildings dating from the mid 19th century when the railway arrived.
The landmark St Leonard's Tower, known locally as 'The Clock Tower', was once part of a 13th century chapel and
it is occasionally open to the public. A Town Trail leaflet is available from the Tourist Information Centre.
